The Boise Dance Teachers Association was founded in 1966. In August, 1986 the group became an incorporated non-profit organization. The objectives of the group are both professional and social, with students of member teachers benefiting in many ways. The primary purpose of Boise Dance Teachers Association (BDTA) is to raise scholarship monies to help students attend the Idaho Dance Arts Alliance Camp held each summer in Twin Falls on the College of Southern Idaho campus as well as offering a dance workshop in the fall of each year held in the Treasure Valley.
